Living for your art...

Ahhhh, the simple things have brought a smile to my face these past two week: giggling with Lindsey about life and pizza, teasing Dui about his corny final bow and dance moves, being annoyed yet amused by Kenneth’s constant pranks and impersonations and enjoying Ms. Troi singing to every song that is played before the show and during intermission :- )

Being around this cast gives me the sense that my dreams of doing my artistic aspirations full time is not in vain. When I think about how the cast gets the job done every night flawlessly and leave the theater with a smile on their faces and a joyful spirit, I know that living for your art is not a bad thing.

Even though this feeling of attaining my goal of loving the life I live and living the life I love seems so logical, I still proceed to a job everyday that does not fulfill me. For some reason I see the light, which in my case would be having a career that I enjoyed (such as doing the play) but I am still in the dungeon ( the unhappy job situation).

Last night Dui shared with the cast and crew some very poignant information about the many faces of “problems.” Dui explained that humans usually see a problem as a negative but he gave examples of how problems surface in lives to teach, protect and sometimes promote people.

It’s ironic that I would get this nugget of information this week because I feel as if there were a storm of problems flooding my life; an unfulfilling job situation being at the top of the list. But as I reflect on the true face of this problem I know that without a shadow of a doubt that there is good embedded in it.

To all that are working towards their destiny I encourage you to challenge the face of your problems. If you believe in the word read 2 Corinthians 1:20 and meditate on it. Our creator has a divine path for us that might be turbulent along the way but ultimately rewarding.

Between you and me… you CAN have your most desired goal! Be fearless this year… and come see the play! :-)

  4. Stacye I am glad to catch up with you. You are an incredible actress and you put a lot of energy into your roles. No matter who your audience is you really connect with them as your character. And from that connection we see your passion about acting and you show with every performance that this is what you really want to do in life. I wish you much success and more people should know who you are because you are that good.
